Sahakar Maharshi Shankarao Mohite-Patil Pratishthan, Natepute is established by Hon. Late. Pratapsinh Shankarrao Mohite-Patil on 16th May 1981. He received an inspiration from his father Sahakar Maharshi Late Shankarrao Narayanrao Mohite-Patil. The social work done by the Sahakar Maharshi in the fields like Education, Co-operation and Agriculture forms the rich heritage for him. Malshiras Tahasil is specially known as draught prone zone. Agriculture is the first and final source for livelihood. The irrigation facilities though scanty had created some change in the lookout of this region. The pioneering work made by the Late. Sahakar Maharshi through Co-operative movement. So there are Co-operative Agro-based Industries, Banks, Pathsanstha, Dairies, Sugar Industries etc. Education is one of important means of bringing about the desired social change. Natepute forms the western part of the Malshiras Tahasil and is still underdeveloped as well as people were in the clutches of superstitions. It was very necessary to open the doors of higher education to the needy, economically weaker sections, down-trodden and the deprived masses of the society at large.
The Prathishthan undertakes various social activities to bring about the changes and awareness in the society. These activities include providence of educational facilities such as to establish Sahakar Maharshi Shankarrao Mohite Patil Mahavidyalaya, Natepute and Swami Sarvadanand Diagnostic Centre, Akluj. The diagnostic centre provides medical facility to the needy at the concessional rates. As well as to establish educational, professional and industrial schools, to popularize the family planning movement of the Govt., to make available educational and medical services to the Physically handicapped and the poor people and to make available educational and financial facility for the landless labourers.
The founder of Prathishthan and his trustees work with the principle of “Service to the people is service to God. ” Agriculture is the main occupation of the people of this region. However, the scanty rainfall and the traditional methods of agriculture are still the obstacles in the development of the society. The Pratishthan has decided to bring the change in the field of agriculture by using new methods and technologies as well as to make available the source of water through building various “Bandaras” and canals.

5) To create job opportunities for rural youths to the various Co-operative Pathsanthas, Banks, Dairies, Sugar Industries and the Allied-Agro-Based Industries.

• Objectives of the Institution :
1) To promote agriculture development through the activities of agriculture research and a recent technologies.
2) Organization of various need based special medical camps for the financially weaker sections of the society.
3) For an upliftment of the farmers of the area by availing them the facilities of the Irrigation, Electricity, Quality seeds, the Manuars and sharing of the udpate knowledge and deep experience of the experts in the respective fields.
4) To open the doors of traditional and professional higher education to the masses.
5) Updating the courses of study as per the requirements for the global job-market as well as the societal and economical changes and challenges.
• Activities of the Institution :
1) To purchase land for the construction of Modern Hospital and the medical equipments. To make Medical Services available to the economically backward people on the basis of “No Loss, No Profit”.
2) To establish educational technical and industrial schools and colleges.
3) To make available educational and medical services to the physically handicapped and the needy people.
4) To make arrangements for prevention and control of various epidemics in the surrounding area.
5) To organize and promote cultural activities for the educationally and socially backward people. And to undertake the constructions of the building for the same purpose.
6) To undertake the construction of roads and digging of the wells for the economically backward people.
7) To make arrangements of business training for the educated unemployed youths and to appoint technical advisor and Job Counseller for the same purpose.
8) To make available educational and financial facility for the landless laborers.
9) To imbibe the importance of education on the minds of illiterate people and to organize the exhibition in the memory of great people.
10) To acquire, purchase and possess mobile and immobile property and use it for various purposes and to spend the amount of income thereof to fulfill the aims and objectives of the Prathishthan.
11) To acheive donations, loans,grants and deposits.
12) To run public libraries for the masses to enrich their knowledge in various fields. To create an inspiration among the farmers for the agricultural development by aquiring and purchasing land on loan basis to produce various crops with new technologies. It will useful to open the doors of agricultural development to the masses. To undertake farming on an experimental basis and to use it’s income to fulfill the various medical facilities of the needy people.
13) To plan various activities for Cultural ,Social and Economic development of the masses and for their all round development.
